TEACHING & COACHING

Let's work together!

I love coaching actors on monologues, auditions, scenes, and grad school prep.  My focus is to create a supportive environment for the actor to make bold, honest choices.

I taught in the Theatre Department at UNLV for 3 years while I was working on my M.F.A. in Performance. I have also been a teaching artist at the Utah Shakespeare Festival and Commonwealth Shakespeare Company.

Shoot me an email and we can discuss how I can best help you!  stefanieresnick@gmail.com

I also teach classes for kids through Studio Playground!

Joanna has been taking a virtual “Storytelling & Play” class taught by Stefanie Resnick for the last 4 weeks and it brings her so much joy! This class has inspired Joanna to be confident and not so timid, encourages her imagination, allows her to play freely and then listen and laugh with other friends her age. I remember first hearing the end of class and I cried as I heard my little girl repeat “I am brave! I am funny!” Because little girls need to be reminded that they too can be hilarious to boot and can take steps forward even if they are scared, in life or in class. I feel like I owe so much to Stefanie for encouraging and inspiring my little girl. It’s been a highlight of Joanna’s during the pandemic. If you have a kid who needs a creative outlet, or needs some confidence, or wants to learn about acting or who needs to move their body or is full of hilarious, imaginative stories, you absolutely need to enroll them in a class from Stef!

My daughter has the best time in Stefanie’s Virtual Theatre Adventure Class. Stefanie creates a space for the kids to communicate with one another while exploring and discovering together in a process that’s well thought out. One of the aspects that I love is that the kids both socialize and get to fully express themselves in their warm ups and through interactive exercises. Stefanie is so amazing at giving them permission to follow their impulses without judgement. They don’t always get to do that in school or extracurricular activities. There is a structure to the progression that is less of a process and more of an imaginative journey that the kid’s take together. They’re learning how to collectively create while being their own individual. Plus she keeps the classes small so that they have their autonomy and lots of time to share their ideas. They are learning so many great skills for the future. I can’t recommend Stefanie’s enough. It’s by far Sekara’s favorite class!

COACHING TESTIMONIALS

Allison Beauregard

"I’ve worked with a great number of teachers over the course of my training, and I honestly count Stefanie Resnick among the best of them. I worked with Stefanie on a scene that I’d been struggling with—I simply couldn’t figure it out, and it was causing me a great deal of stress and anxiety. But Stefanie helped me to break down the scene, connect with it personally, discern exactly who or what I’m talking to in each moment, play with different physical properties and playable actions, and trust that what I’m doing is enough. Stefanie brought an incredible energy of fun, focus, and freedom to our coaching session, and we worked together in the spirit of creativity and collaboration. By the end of the session, I felt markedly more confident and comfortable both in the scene and in my work as an actor. Stefanie is truly a gifted teacher, and it is a joy and honor to work with her."

“Being able to connect and collaborate are qualities integral to any great teacher and actor. Stefanie Resnick is both and more than excels in these arenas. Her warm presence and constant generosity make working on material a beautifully fun celebration of acting and theatre! Stefanie helped me to unravel the potential of my monologues and make bold choices to bring my characters to life. She supported me in every way, right down to the little nuances of audition technique so I could approach the admissions process more comfortably. I was able to explore, work and play freely with Stefanie as my artistic guide without fear of judgment while also receiving genuine feedback. Every time I work with Stefanie I come away with this notion that I can do this - this acting thing! And that I have made the right choice by pursuing my passion - as if imposter syndrome, maybe the artist’s greatest plight, has washed away. In short, not only does Stefanie help me enhance and better my work, but she helps me believe in me! What more can you ask for than that? Stefanie is what every student wants in a teacher but hasn’t been able to get from one. She has my enthusiastic recommendation!”
